Thirty gallons is the full laboratory. At this size, the patented Flame Flow™ is for distillers who already know their recipes and want enough volume to make every run count. That could be whiskey, rum, brandy or a base spirit for gin.
Heat that reaches the middle
Big pots have a big problem. The center of the mash can lag behind, and the bottom can burn while you wait for it to catch up. Flame Flow™ deals with this using four large tubes that carry the flame up and through the still. The maker says it heats up in half the time of their standard units, is less likely to scorch and is easier to control accurately. Development took over two years and more than 100 logged hours of testing.
Choosing your spirit at scale
- Whiskey: grain mashes are thick, and spreading the heat out lowers the risk of a scorched flavor.
- Rum: large molasses washes give you more volume to make careful cuts from.
- Brandy and schnapps: fruit mashes burn easily, so they benefit from gentler heat.
- Gin and vodka: repeated runs and tight cuts move you toward a cleaner spirit, ready for botanicals.
What comes in the set
The set includes the pot, thumper, worm, a cap with temperature gauge and an electric component. Everything is built with 100% lead-free materials. Patent number 10,561,960.
Owning a still is legal in the US. Producing alcohol with it requires federal TTB permits, and you must follow federal, state and local law.
